OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, November 16th, 2013 at Little Zion Baptist Church for Mrs. Lucille " Gran" Guillory, 104, who entered eternal rest on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at M.D. Anderson in Houston, TX.

Interment will be in Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Calvin Moore will officiate the services.

Lucille Green Guillory, known to all who adored her as "Gran", was the oldest living Opelousan who epitomized a Seasoned Life of 104 blessed years. She modeled the character of dedicated family member, educator, and true humanitarian, who with an unselfish and loving heart was beloved by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, generations of students and educators, family, friends and those lives she uniquely touched, guided and influenced.

Mrs. Guillory leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Senator Elbert Guillory, three daughters Nettie Fontenot, Charleta Guillory and Naweta Guillory, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 nieces, Charity Bell Guillory and Geraldine E. Morris. Her legacy will continue to live through her family and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends and former students.

We thank God for a life that was a beacon light of love and joy to everyone who met her. "Gran fought a good fight, she finished her course, "she kept the faith." She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, late husband, Macie Guillory and son, former Chief Julius Guillory.

Visting hours will be observed at Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 7-11 Am Saturday.
