      PALMETTO- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Palmetto, LA for Mrs. Ollie Mae Braziel-Chaney a/k/a ?Madear? and ?Nan Ollie?, 88, who passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 in New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church. Interment will be in St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery in LeMoyen, LA. Mrs. Braziel-Chaney is survived by: two sons, Freddie L. Chaney of Houston, TX and Rev. Frank Chaney (Constance) of San Pedro, CA; four daughters, Julia Barzar (Samuel, Jr.) of Morrow, LA, Margaret Lynn Chaney, LaQuinta Chaney and Jean Michelle Shepherd (Clarence), all of Houston, TX; one sister, Irma Thomas of Palmetto, LA; 14 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by: her parents, William Mack Braziel and Olivia Williams Braziel; her husband, Frank Chaney, Sr.; and her son, Mack L. Chaney.
