      "Remember me as loving you all"

      OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Landry Catholic Church for Elvie C. LeBlanc, age 91, the former Elvie Cormier, who passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her residence in Scott.

      Interment will be in St. Landry Catholic Cemetery.

      Mrs. LeBlanc was a native of Sunset and a resident of Opelousas. She was employed with Abdalla's Department Store in Opelousas as a seamstress. A devout Catholic, Mrs. LeBlanc was a parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church and was a member of the Miraculous Medal since 1941, Catholic Daughters for over fifty years and Rosary Group.

      Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Patricia LeBlanc; three grandchildren, Jay LeBlanc and his wife, Carla, of Scott, Terry LeBlanc and his companion, Tanya, of Duson and Gerald LeBlanc and his friend, Christine Miller; five great grandchildren, Josh LeBlanc, Mikaela LeBlanc, Austin Rougeau, Camille McFarlin and Devin McFarlin; and two great great grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, Walfred LeBlanc, Sr.; one son, Walfred "Wally" LeBlanc, Jr.; her parents, Adam Cormier and the former Cevalie Richard; one brother, Mathew Cormier; and two sisters, Lou Alice Vidrine and Lillie Mae Castille.

      Rosaries will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. by the Catholic Daughters and again at 6:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

      The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

      Pallbearers will be Jay LeBlanc, Josh LeBlanc, Terry LeBlanc, Gerald LeBlanc, Dale Vidrine and Kevin Cullotta. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Vidrine, Kevin Vidrine, Gary White, Jow Cullotta and Joshua Splane.
