    1. [S55] Obituary Judith Ann Marcel née Comeaux, 27 Jul 2016.
      Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2016 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Judith Marcel, age 68, the former Judith Ann Comeaux, who passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

      Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau.

      Mrs. Marcel was a native of Arnaudville, lived in New Orleans for 35 years and after Hurricane Katrina, her family moved to the Lafayette area. She was employed with the State of Louisiana in New Orleans for more than 25 years. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafayette.

      Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Sidney J. Marcel of Lafayette; one son, Kendall Odell Marcel of Lafayette; two daughters, Petrina Cressy and husband, Tyrone, and Sauntrice Marcel all of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Kendra Freeman, Kendall Marcel, Jr., Jalen Cressy and Kelsey Bruno; one brother, James Comeaux, Jr. and wife, Camille, of Prairie Basse; three sisters, Edith Sonnier of Opelousas, Beverly Riggs and husband, Murphy, of Sunset and Geneva Mays and husband, Earl, of Grand Coteau; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, James Comeaux and the former Carrie Chenier; two brothers, Gerald Comeaux and Albert Comeaux; and one sister, Myrna Gradnigo.

      A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

      The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 7:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
