Harmosnos reads as the birthyear 1784, but that is practically impossible, that would mean he was 133 years old when he died, so we entered as the birthday the more likely 1884. 4 According to the book "Sous cette pierre repose" page 84 her birthday was 24 Dec 1891 and death date 05 Oct 1880 which of course couldn't be, since that would make the birthday after the death date. Need to be checked if the days where just mixed up or if one of the dates are wrong.

5 Anita S. Kraft

SULPHUR - Anita S. Kraft, 91, of Sulphur died at 4 pm on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Harbor Hospice of Lake Charles following a brief illness. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 5:30 to 9 pm at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur, LA with a rosary at 7 pm led by Lena Broussard. Visitation will continue on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington, LA, from 12 pm until 2 pm at which time funeral services will begin with Deacon Dwayne Joubert officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.

Born November 7, 1922, in St. Landry Parish, Anita was the seventh of eight children born to Arciuse Smith and Odette Guillaumin Smith. She and her family later located to Washington, LA where she lived until graduation from Washington High School in 1939. Anita continued her education graduating from Normal State College (now known as Northwestern State University) in Natchitoches, LA in 1943 with a degree in elementary education.

Anita relocated to Sulphur where she lived until her time of death. Her thirty-three years of teaching elementary school included nine years at Frasch Elementary and twenty-four years at W.T. Henning Elementary. After her retirement in May of 1977, Anita became an active member of AARP and Young at Heart. She enjoyed gardening, working with roses and traveling. Her hobbies included art work consisting of cross stitching and crocheting.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Nolton, Carl and John Smith; four sisters, Ezoline Unsel, Elvie Ryder, Ann Johnson and Lou Smith.

Anita is survived by two sisters in law, Bernice Smith of Sulphur, LA and Armede Smith of Palmetto, LA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital and Harbor Hospice for their compassion and caring during her brief stay.

6 Bonita Ortego Armand

OPELOUSAS - Funeral services for Bonita Ortego Armand will be held on Tuesday September 30, 2014 at 11:00am in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the services.

Pallbearers will be her sons; Kelly Armand, Randy Armand, Malachy Armand, Clay Armand, Dale Armand and her grandson; Kane Armand.

Mrs. Armand, age 84, a resident of Opelousas, died Sunday September 28, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System. She was born on December 2, 1929 in Reddell, LA. She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She was a nurse for 63 years, having worked at the St. Landry Clinic, Doctors Hospital and Opelousas General Hospital. Upon her retirement she volunteered at Prompt Succor Nursing Home and was a private duty nurse for 20 years.

Her survivors include her sons; Randy Armand, Dale Armand, Kelly Armand and wife Kilie, Malachy Armand, Clay Armand and wife Becky, 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband; Earl E. Armand, parents; Anchelle Ortego and Emma Landreneau Ortego, sons; Larry Armand and Stacey Armand.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 2:00pm until 9:00pm and will reopen on Tuesday at 9:00am until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm on Monday.

KROTZ SPRINGS - A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Brynn Addison Bergeaux at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. Reverend Mark Ledoux celebrated the Mass. Rite of committal was held at St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery.

Brynn was born on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 and passed away peacefully in the arms of her family on Friday, September 26, 2014, and met the eyes of Jesus at 12:29 a.m.

Brynn is survived by her parents, Adam and Kallie Latiolais Bergeaux, of Krotz Springs, LA; her sister and brother, Brie Bergeaux and Nolan Savoy, of Krotz Springs, LA; her maternal grandparents, Kent and Kalley Latiolais of Church Point, LA; her paternal grandparents, Lane and Joan Bergeaux of Krotz Springs, LA; her great-grandparents, Murray and Laura Bergeaux of Jennings, LA and her great-grandmother, Loretta Kaiser. She is also survived by her Aunt Michelle and Uncle Jake Smith, of Krotz Springs, LA; her Uncle Rowdy Latiolais of Church Point, LA; her cousins, Tucker Smith, Seth Smith, Benjamin Smith and Aubrey Smith all of Krotz Springs, LA and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Uncle Phillip Latiolais and her great-grandparents, Calbert and Burtrella Latiolais and Claude Kaiser, Sr.

Surviving Ms. Rideaux are: her mother, Edna Gallow of Washington; four sons, Richard Rideaux, Jr. and William Rideaux (Genita), both of Opelousas, Charles Rideaux of Colorado Springs, CA and Ricky Rideaux of Washington; four daughters, Sylvia Martinez Rideaux (Zedric) of Aurora, CO, Mary Rideaux, Lisa Rideaux and Edna Rideaux (Leo), all of Opelousas; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

LAWTELL - Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Holy Family Catholic Church of Lawtell, LA for Mr. George Papillion, Jr., 55, who entered eternal rest on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, Louisiana

Final disposition will be resolved privately. Rev. Bartlomiej Jasilek S.V.D. will officiate the Mass of Christian burial.

Born April 29, 1959, in Lafayette, Louisiana, George "June" Papillion Jr. was the fifth of ten children born to George Papillion, Sr. and Josephine Guillory Papillion of Lawtell, LA.

George is survived by three children from his former wife, Glenda Faye Edmond Broussard. Cherishing his memories are: his son, Derek Keith Papillion (Sharita) of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Krystal Monique Papillion-Lewis (Eddie) and Courtney Michelle Papillion both of Lafayette, LA; four grandchildren, Eddie "EJ" Lewis IV, Khloe Lewis, Chariah and Kylee Papillion; five brothers, Davis Papillion (Signora) of Eunice, LA, Daniel Papillion of Opelousas, LA, Donald Papillion (Teresa) and Zachary Papillion (Sandra) both of Dallas, TX and Joseph Papillion of Lawtell, LA; three sisters, Mary Jane Guillory, Rose Bellard and Brenella Papillion all of Opelousas, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Even in his death, George still lives on through others as he gave the gift of life to many by being an organ donor.

George was preceded in death by his parents.

Eunice - It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of J. R. Deshotel announces his passing on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles at the age of 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Dustin Dought Celebrant.

J.R. was a retired General Manager from Perry Pitre Ford. He served his country proudly in the United States National Guard. He loved to fish, hunt, cut his grass and BBQ. But most of all he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him especially his wife, Dean Deshotel of Eunice; his four children, Kyle Deshotel and wife, Paula, Nicole Bergeron and husband, James "Junior", and Jay Deshotel all of Eunice, and Jude Deshotel of Kinder; a brother, Reven Deshotel of Opelousas; seven grandchildren, Kylie Jo Doucet, Dr. Kaleb Deshotel, Kourt Deshotel, Alec Deshotel, Skye Bergeron, Ansley Deshotel and Cole Bergeron; three great grandchildren, Kameron, Katelyn and Wyatt.

He is preceded in death by his son, Chad Deshotel; parents, Lindey and Virgie Foret Deshotel; and a brother, Clyde Deshotel.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, September 25th from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Friday, September 26th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm Thursday evening.

OPELOUSAS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2014, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, for John Irving Lanclos, age 79 who passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System. Rite of Committal and interment followed in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Ted Broussard will celebrate the Service.

John was a resident of Opelousas. He loved dancing, fishing, hunting and all outdoors actives.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Marie Richard Lanclos of Opelousas, son, Daniel Lanclos and his wife, Debra of Cleveland, TN., daughters, Mona Ewing and her husband, Mitch, Sr. of Lawtell and Pamela Keith and her husband, Joe of Opelousas, brother, Orest Lanclos and his wife, Janiet of Waskom, TX. eight grand children and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Elie and Angeline Noel Lanclos, son, Darrell Lanclos, daughter Debra Lanclos.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, September 24, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until 9.00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until time of Service. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

15 Joseph "Lome" Soileau

PORT BARRE - Funeral services will be held Monday September 29, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas for Joseph E. Soileau, age 83, who passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville.

Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Daniel Picard, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church will officiate at the services.

Mr. Soileau was a native of Milton and a resident of Port Barre for most of his life.

Survivors include one son, Ricky A. Soileau and his companion, Sue Sonnier, of Lewisburg; two daughters, Sheila Ann Soileau of Port Barre and Carla Faye Soileau and her companion, Gary Lanclos, of Grand Prairie; two brothers, J.C. Soileau and his wife, Vivian Guidroz Soileau and Leo Soileau and his wife, Louella Doucet Soileau, all of Port Barre; three sisters, Helen Delrie of Pineville, Bernice Doucet of Elizabeth, and Deola Taylor and her husband, Roy, of Port Barre; four grandchildren, Danielle Darbonne and her husband, Justin, of Port Barre, Ansley Fairley of Lutz, FL, Summer Lou Perron and her husband, Brian, of Grand Prairie, and Eric John Soileau and his wife, Laney, of Prairie Rhonde; eight great grandchildren, Saige Soileau, Karson Darbonne, Laikyn Darbonne, Andrew Castille, Riley Castille, Jase Perron, Adalynn Soileau and Landon Miller.

He was preceded in death by his wife the former Lou Ethel Dupre and his parents, Joseph Lee Soileau and the former Lucille Leger.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

OPELOUSAS - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Jude B. Marks will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014, in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA. Fr. Kenneth Domingue and Fr. Gary Schexnayder will concelebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery.

Mr. Marks was a native of Arnaudville and a longtime resident of Port Barre. He passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 70. He was retired after working many years as an energy controller for L. E. P. A. He was previously employed at Avondale Shipyards as an estimator. He had a great love for his country and served his full term in the National Guards. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially while camping in his R. V. with his Cruising Cajuns friends. His time was cherished when he traveled throughout the United States in his R.V. He also had a love for hunting especially with his children and grandchildren at his son's camp.

He was a wonderful husband and a caring father, brother, grandfather, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Moise Marks and Cecile Noel Marks Devillier; two brothers, John Edward Marks and Herman Paul Marks; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Marks; and one brother-in-law, Alvin Robin.

Pallbearers will be Gary Stoute, James Dunn, Greg Robin, Gene Marks, Kenneth Marks, Joey Prudhomme, Jude Marks and Al Robin. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Mosie Marks and Matthew Joseph Marks.

Interment will be in St. James Baptist Cemetery in Lemoyen, LA. Rev. Johnnie Sexton will officiate at the services.

Latravious is survived by his parents, Paul Cabble of Sunset, LA and Alicia Edwards of Alexandria, LA; a daughter, Paisley L. Banks of Lemoyen, LA; a brother, Courtland S. Deal of Alexandria, LA; a grandmother, Linda Edwards of Lemoyen, LA. Mr. Edwards will also be remembered lovingly by a host of other relatives and special friends.

PORT BARRE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, for Lelia S. Aymond, age 86 who passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System. Rite of Committal and interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre, LA. Rev. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Service.

Ms. Lelia was a native and long-time resident of Port Barre. She loved to play Bingo, cook and most importantly was her deep faith in the Lord. She loved spending time with her family and friends and is going to be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Aymond of Port Barre; sisters, Irene Bergeron and husband Doug of Port Barre, Hazel Chustz of Livonia ; grandchild, Yancy Aymond and wife Renee of Krotz Springs and great grandchildren, Wyatt, Cole and Avery Aymond of Krotz Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Aymond; parents, Paul and Nora Richard Stoute; brothers, Collins, Fredrick, Evan, Merrick and Albert Stoute; sisters, Lena Lacombe, Edna Devillier and Versie Bergeron.

Mrs. Formeller, age 57, died on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at her residence.

OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home in Opelousas for Margie Marie Taylor, age 66, who passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at her residence in Opelousas.

Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.

Ms. Taylor was a native of Arnaudville and a resident of Opelousas and Krotz Springs for most of her life. She was an active member of Our Savior's Church in Opelousas. Ms. Taylor was a devout Christian woman who served as a mother, wife, aunt, grandmother, adviser, advocate, confidant, and friend. She was an unconditionally loving woman who found the greatest joy in life came from giving of herself for the sake of others.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Adams, Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Mandeville; one daughter, Roni Adams and her husband, Paul Myers, of New Orleans; two grandchildren, Colin Taylor Adams of Mandeville and Addison Grace Adams of Mandeville; and one sister, Barbara Kidder of Arnaudville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Taylor and the former, Bernadette Wyble, both natives of Arnaudville.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until service time on Wednesday.

Miller of Church Point; one sister Pansy R. Savoie of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Leroy Richard of Lafayette, LA; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jessie Richard; three sisters, Vivian R. Vautrot, Irene R. Mitchell and Rita R. Faul; one brother, Earl Richard and one son-in-law, Ronald Miller.

Nicholas was a lifelong resident of Port Barre. He passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at his residence. He enjoyed hunting, listing to loud music, playing with his son.

Mrs. Pitre was a member of Mohorn Baptist Church where she served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, President of the Mission, Secretary of the Benevolent Society, Delegate to the 7th District Association Annual Meetings and member of the Prayer Band. She was a former President of the School PTA.

Surviving Mrs. Pitre are: her son, Gregory Pitre (Sandra) of Grand Coteau; two daughters, Dr. Merline Pitre of Houston, TX and Sandra Taylor of Fort Washington, MD; one brother, Attorney Marion Overton White (Doris) of Opelousas; four sisters, Ethel Woods of Lake Charles, Helen Calhoun of Houston, TX, Wiona Yvonne Thomas and Levonia Thomas (Joseph) both of Opelousas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Pitre; her parents, John Valery White and Rosella Sam; one son, Joseph Pitre; three daughters, Zenobia Taylor, Verdina Pitre and Sherline Thomas; four brothers, Rev. Survivors include three daughters, Laura Roberts and her husband, Xavier, of Lewisburg, LA, Tracy Charlot of Lake Charles and Melba Brooks and her husband, Leroy, Jr., of Bellevue; a special grandson whom they raised as their own, Christopher Taylor; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers, Howard Charles of Abbeville, Edward Charles of Carencro and Ronald Taylor of Cecilia; and four sisters, Lovenia Charles of Arnaudville, Eva Anthony of Opelousas, Bernadine Aggison and Odile Taylor, both of TX.
